Our story

MaoniMom didn’t start as a business. It started as a text message.

I remember sitting on my bathroom floor at 3 a.m., my daughter finally asleep, and texting a friend three words: “Is this normal?” She wrote back within minutes — not a Google search, not a pamphlet from the hospital, just another mother who had been there, telling me the truth.

That text thread became my lifeline through the fourth trimester. And it made me realize how much of what actually gets mothers through — the real, unfiltered, “here’s what helped me” wisdom — never makes it into any book, app, or doctor’s appointment. It lives in group chats, in kitchens, in the hallway after drop-off. It lives with grandmothers who never got to say it out loud to anyone but their own daughters.

MaoniMom is that text thread, opened up to everyone who needs it. A village, built the way villages have always worked — one mother handing something to the next.

We built it bilingual on purpose. So much wisdom in our families lives in Spanish, and so much of it gets lost in translation — or just gets lost. Here, both languages get to exist fully, side by side, never as an afterthought.
